Privacy policy

We collect as little data as we can. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies here. Below we say plainly what reaches us and the companies whose services we use, why, and for how long.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller is LET'S CODE PIOTR MALESZCZUK-SAMOILOV (NIP 5961760424), the business that runs startujemy.pl.

For anything about your personal data, write to kontakt@startujemy.pl.

Newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter you give us your email address. Signing up has to be confirmed with a link we email you (double opt-in) — until then we send you nothing.

Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the link in every email or by writing to us; withdrawing does not affect anything that happened before.

We keep your address until you unsubscribe. The list is held for us by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), not in our own database.

Visit statistics

We count visits to know whether the site is growing and where readers come from. We use Pirsch (Emvi Software GmbH, Germany) for this, which stores nothing on your device — no cookies and no localStorage.

From your IP address, browser details and a random value that changes every day, Pirsch derives a hash that can only tie a visit together within a single day. The IP address is not stored, and we only ever see totals: page views, entry pages, traffic sources, country and city, device type.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in measuring the reach of our own site (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). The data is processed in Germany under a data processing agreement with Pirsch.

Location ("Near me")

If you use the "Near me" button and let your browser share your location, its coordinates reach our server only to find the nearest town. We do not store them or pass them on; from then on, including in the page address, only the town name is used.

Email contact

If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply and continue the conversation. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering correspondence (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). We delete messages once the matter is closed.

Running and securing the site

Like any server, ours keeps technical request logs, including IP addresses. They are used to keep the site running and detect abuse, are kept briefly, and are not combined with any other data.

Application errors are reported to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA; data stored in the EU region). An error report contains no IP address or anything else that identifies you.

The site runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working site (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).

Cookies

We use a single session cookie that the site needs to work: it remembers your chosen language and protects forms against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It needs no consent and disappears when you close the browser. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time.

Just write to kontakt@startujemy.pl. You can also lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority, Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl).

We make no automated decisions about you and do no profiling.

Changes

When we start processing data in a new way — for example once accounts or alerts launch — we will update this page and the date at the top.
